Captain Jack interviews Shawna Lenee

I have been a fan of Shawna’s for a long time before I even started doing reviews. She always had a cute face and she grew up in front of the camera. She retired about 4 years ago and you can’t expect someone to stay in it forever. However, word started getting out last week that Shawna was making a comeback. I immediately contacted her and we set up a time to talk. Shawna is everything one would expect and more. We talked for a long time about a wide variety of subjects, most of which is repeated below. LOL.

Captain Jack: Tell me about Shawna Lenee. Where did you grow up? What was your family life and school life like?

Shawna Lenee: I grew up in Ohio, about 30 minutes from Cleveland. I’m a Cleveland girl but I grew up on a farm in the suburbs. In high school, we had about 200 in our graduating class and I was a cheerleader. I became a mom really young, at 17, and when I turned 18, I didn’t want help from anyone. I was already doing mainstream modeling and acting and I was going to New York and LA for a modeling competition. I needed a way to pay for all this, it cost thousands of dollars. I loved modeling and I loved acting. It was the best escape I ever had. It was so much fun, I loved doing it. I kind of accidentally got involved in adult modeling. I was on Model Mayhem and I got invited to a shoot. It was in Palm Springs and I was literally 18 years old and was still in high school. I filmed my first scene and it wasn’t so bad. I was a little nervous but I think I handled it well. At the time, an agent was already contacting me and I went with the agency and they just got me work.

I took a break in 2010 because it became very overwhelming. I had a lot of people just assuming they knew everything about me but they actually knew nothing at all about what was happening in my life. It got really hard to handle. People were swearing I had a nose job and I never had any work done on my face. I had my boobs done but that was it. I was starting to get really aggravated. I just wanted to step out of the spotlight so that’s what I did. I wasn’t happy in LA. I felt really alone. I had my best friends there but then they ended up moving to different states. So I flew home and I’m so happy I spent four years here out of the industry. I learned so much more about myself. I’ve fallen so much more in love with Cleveland than I ever had before. I’m very proud of my city. It’s an amazing place to be. I’ve been going to college for small business management. I started two businesses since I’ve been gone. I sell crochet patterns and I sell jewelry.

I was just making my way through life and then one of my girlfriend’s said, ‘Hey, why don’t you work at the Hustler Club?’ I figured I could make some money there so I agree to do it. So back in July, I started working there and I got recognized every day! I was surprised that people recognized me because I had been retired for four years and figured people would forget about me. My fans love me and they come in to see me and I meet a new fan almost every single day, even when I’m not at the club. I started to realize, I’m not getting away from this. It’s definitely a big part of who I am. I was talking to my friend Madison Scott, who is a very good friend of mine. I love her so much! She told me she was contracted with Brazzers and I told her I was thinking of doing videos again. I asked who her agent was and she said she’d see if they were interested in me. She did and now I’m going to be shooting with Brazzers so everything worked out perfectly.

CJ: Can I ask how old you are?

Shawna: I’m 27. I feel old these days!

CJ: You actually answered about 5 of my questions in that answer so I have to get right down to the perv level. What was that scene you shot when you were still in high school?

Shawna: The very first scene I did was a girl/girl/girl scene. The reason I did my first scene with a girl was because I had a girlfriend before I had a boyfriend in high school. I was new, I just liked girls. It was really easy. My first boy/girl scene was Service Animals 21.

CJ: Were you still in high school for that one?

Shawna: Yes I was.

CJ: OK, I’m definitely going to get that one in the next couple weeks!

Shawna: Please do. Looking back now, that’s almost 10 years now. It’s kind of weird looking back because I was just a baby. I was so little there and I kind of grew up in porn. It’s just so weird.

CJ: So you’re going to be shooting with Brazzers, is that a contract?

Shawna: Right now I’ll be shooting a few scenes a month for them on a 6-month contract. And I’m hoping they’ll renew it at the end. I think they just want to see how I’m going to do coming back and make sure the fans still like me because I’ve been gone for a long time. I’m hoping to get a lot of support from my fans and hopefully that will allow me to stay with them a lot longer. I would like it to be a long term thing but we’ll see what happens.

CJ: Are you just going to shoot girl/girl? Or will it be boy/girl too?

Shawna: Boy/girl too and there will also be two anal scenes that will be released in the next 6 months.

CJ: That’s what I was going to ask you next. According to IAFD, you’ve only shot one anal scene in your career. Is that correct?

Shawna: Yes, I’ve only done one. It was with Nick Manning. I haven’t spoken to him in a long time but he was my best friend in the industry and I trusted him so much to share that moment with me. I’m a little nervous about the scenes coming up but I’m sure I can do it. The Brazzers guys are so great, I’m not even worried.

CJ: You might now know this because you haven’t shot yet but how have you noticed the industry has changed in the four years you were gone?

Shawna: I know it’s changed a lot. I know a lot of companies I’ve shot for in the past aren’t shooting anymore. I’m not really here to do the same thing I did before. My goals are different now. When I was in the industry before, I didn’t have any goals. I was just working, making money, spending money…I had no goals. I didn’t know where I was going. So, now, I’m not here to make $20,000/month. I don’t want to make that. Yes, it would be awesome but I don’t want to work everyday. I’m needed at home, I can’t be away that long. I just want to work a little bit each month and just provide the best household that I can.

CJ: You said you have goals now, what are your goals?

Shawna: My specific goals are kind of personal but I don’t mind sharing them because I tell everybody all the time so it’s not really a secret. I want a house paid off, that’s all I want. I lived in LA for 5 years and I wasted a lot of money on an apartment out there. The values here in Ohio in the area I live in, compared to LA, there’s so much value here. I can get a nice house up here for $150-200,000. I want a house paid off, that’s all I want because I don’t want to worry about a mortgage for the rest of my life.

CJ: You said you had a girlfriend before you had a boyfriend, when was the first time you had sex with a girl?

Shawna: I was 14.

CJ: When did you lose your virginity to a guy?

Shawna: I was 15 ½.

CJ: Is there a good story behind that?

Shawna: Not really, it’s boring. I heard one of my friends lost her virginity and everyone was talking about it. And I did it because I was wondering why everyone was talking about it. I didn’t even know what the hell I was doing. (laughs)

CJ: Two years later, you had your child, were you promiscuous in the interim?

Shawna: No, I wouldn’t really say so. Now in high school, girls take birth control, no problem. When I was in high school, if you were on birth control, you were a big whore. Girls didn’t talk about it like they do now and I feel like there wasn’t enough sex education about preventing pregnancy. I had the type of sex education where if you touch something, you’re dirty. They made girls feel bad about themselves and it’s not healthy towards young females. I feel like a sex education program that focuses on preventing pregnancy is the greatest. Kids are going to have sex, you can’t stop it. Once they find out about it, they want to have it.

CJ: When did you learn the power of the pussy meaning that you could get a guy to do things for you with just a smile?

Shawna: That’s a really good question. The older I get, the more I realize it. I know now that I can get a lot of guys because I was in porn. That’s why I prefer to date girls because it’s more of a challenge. Guys just look at me like, ‘Oh my God. She’s a pornstar. She’s hot. I totally want to bang her and I want to be with her for a few months.’ I’m not looking for that. I’m looking for that connection with a best friend. And being a porn star is pretty hard sometimes. You don’t know who’s really your friend. I’m talking about new people I meet. You have in the back of your mind, ‘Why does this person want to be my friend?’ I met someone who thought we were best friends because we had a drink together. I have to find out people’s intentions. I’ve learned how to read people and feel them out about whether they like me as a person or as a porn star. To answer your question, I first started noticing that in my early 20s, I’m not sure though.

CJ: When you started, you were known as Kara Minor and Kara Bare. Why did you choose that name and why did you switch to Shawna Lenee?

Shawna: I never chose my original name, that’s why I changed it. My first agent said ‘Here’s your name.’ I never liked it, I never liked the Minor part. I know I looked young. I knew I was playing that role, but to place ‘minor’ in my name, I thought was ethically wrong. I don’t promote anything illegal and I felt like it was wrong. It didn’t feel right and I wasn’t comfortable. Then my next agent changed it to Kara Bare and I still didn’t like it. It didn’t fit. So, finally, I switched agents again, I went through a lot of agents early in my career, and I told them that I just want to go by my first name because Shawna is who I am. I didn’t want another name. My middle name is Lee. I came up with Lenee, I actually took it from someone. I’ve always been a stripper and I love it and I was dancing with a girl who’s middle name was Lenee. I asked her if I could use it and that’s where Lenee came from. I chose it and I feel so much better choosing my name.

CJ: You got a breast enhancement early on in your career. Was that because of industry pressure or did you do it on your own?

Shawna: I did it on my own. People thought I did it because of work. Some decisions you make independent of work. My breasts are now 8 years old. I love my boobs. I would never get rid of these. I have never regretted getting these once. And I think that’s because I got them for myself. I didn’t get them for anyone else. I never liked being flat chested. I didn’t fit into clothes. I couldn’t wear halter tops. I couldn’t wear bikinis and it really bothered me. I really wanted to wear cute clothes. I fit into clothes now and they’re amazing. I still get compliments on them. People love them!

CJ: What size are they?

Shawna: It all depends on the brand but I’m like a 32D or 34B or 34C, it all depends. I think they’re great! I’m glad I got them the size I did. They fit me because I’m a tiny girl. I’ve actually lost weight since I first got in the industry. I’m 5’2” and 96 pounds. I’m really small. (laughs)

CJ: What’s your favorite position?

CJ: In the 6 years you were in the industry, do you have any favorite scenes?

Shawna: Thank you! I think she’s pretty! (laughs)

CJ: You worked in that one with Pat Myne. Does it bother you working with older men?

Shawna: I don’t think it really matters to me. No, not really. It’s my job. When I’m on set, I just get lost in it. I don’t even notice the camera. I get this mindset. I hope I still have that, I’m sure I do, but I’m a little nervous. I just get lost and if I was worried about how old the guy was or where the camera was, it would show in my face. Everything shows in my face. You can tell when I’m mad. You can tell when I’m happy. If I was distracted, my fans would know it.

CJ: What do you like sexually? What gets Shawna wet?

CJ: Do you have any favorite stars that you want to work with that are newer?

Shawna: There’s one girl I do want to work with. She has a cute face, I know she’s worked with Bang Bros. She’s from here in Ohio, her name is Natalie Lust. And she needs to be comfortable with herself. Figure out what you want and go get it. And don’t let anyone ever tell you to do it a different way. Only you know what’s best for yourself.

CJ: What have you learned about yourself sexually since joining porn?

Shawna: So much. I love girls. And I hope to marry a girl someday. I need to get gay marriage legal here in Ohio so I can meet the girl of my dreams, propose to her and marry her. I’ve learned to not be so judgmental on people. I get judged all the time because of what I do. It’s another character building thing not to judge people, as long as you’re not hurting anybody, I have no reason to judge you.

CJ: What are you like off-camera? What are your hobbies and interests?

Shawna: I love crocheting. I love reading. I’m a big Atheist. So I’m always reading religious stuff and I love finding contradictions in the Bible. Organized religion is trying to shut down our industry so I want to fight back. I love science. I’m also a big feminist so I read up on women’s issues all the time. I get in a lot of debates. I have about 5,000 friends on my Facebook with all these people following me so I will purposely post things that people will debate about. I love Netflix. I love Orange Is The New Black. And I watch Disney religiously.

CJ: What kind of music do you like?

Shawna: I love anything Top 40. I’m obsessed with Jessie McCartney. I’ve been obsessed with him for 11 years. He just came to Cleveland in concert in January and I pushed my way towards the stage through a bunch of 12 year olds and I was about 10 feet away from him.

CJ: I know how musicians are. I’m surprised he didn’t spot you and give you a backstage pass.

Shawna: I think he looked at me but I don’t know if he knew who I was. But then this girl pushed me and I pushed back and he didn’t look at me again.

CJ: What’s your favorite movie?

Shawna: I love documentaries.
