Mona Wales Interview

Mona Wales Talks with Captain Jack

Mona got into the porn industry at a later date than most women but she still has accrued quite a large fan base! This sexy MILF has shot a lot of scenes for Kink and even directs for them. I got a chance to catch up with her before she left for Europe for a couple of months. Mona is a very intelligent woman and has quite a story to tell!

Captain Jack: Tell me about Mona Wales.

Mona: I grew up in Northern California, the Bay area. I went to St. John’s college and I studied ancient Greek philosophy. I have all these different phases in my life. I used to be an organic farmer; I used to sell antiques; I did a brief stint as a hyper religious person…but that’s all in the past. Now, I call myself bi-sexual because I live in both San Francisco and Los Angeles. My hobbies are sailing and reading books.

CJ: Can I ask how old you are?

Mona: I’m 32 next week (March 14).

CJ: What country are you spending your birthday in?

Mona: Spain. I’m going with Kink. I’m directing Public Disgrace there.

CJ: How long have you been in the industry now?

Mona: 6 years.

CJ: When did you lose your virginity?

Mona: I was not a very sexual person but I was curious so I paid my marijuana dealer to deflower me on my 16th birthday.

CJ: Wow, lucky guy.

Mona: He was a gay man so it was kind of a chore for him. I gave him an extra $40 and it was really awful.

CJ: How was it being with a gay man? Did he get into it at all?

Mona: It was fine. I’ve definitely had sex with people on all kinds of sexual spectrums. I’ve definitely had sex with people I wasn’t attracted to and I’m sure male straight performers have sex with people they’re not attracted to even though it’s their gender preference. I’m a sapia sexual and it’s not people that turn people on, it’s ideas. If you can go to that place in your head where you’re turned on enough and think the right thoughts that you can achieve whatever you choose sexually.

CJ: Were you very promiscuous after that?

Mona: No, I’m weird, I did not. I was definitely overtly sexual. I did it in fits and bursts. If I had a break from school, I would fuck 10 people but then I would go back to school and not even have a sexual thought. It was weird. I got into pornography late, when I was 25, and it was because I felt I missed out on a lot of stuff. I spent years with the church after college and I felt like I didn’t have the experiences that other people had and I wanted to make up for lost time.

CJ: Do you think it was a better idea to enter the industry when you were 25 as opposed to 18?

Mona: Oh God, I have so much respect for the young girls that are able to do sex work, especially pornography, because the mental strength that it takes to occupy a world that doesn’t appreciate your life choices and wants to shit on you constantly and have access to you through the internet constantly, I’m in awe. I was definitely not strong enough to do it then.

CJ: I never understood the mentality of watching these girls and pleasuring yourself to them yet you rip on them. It’s like self-hate.

Mona: Right! It’s shame! You’re taking on so many male psyches at once when you’re a 19-year old pornstar. I can only imagine. You’re getting all of this validation with all of this hatred. It would be such a mind fuck…I can’t even understand it. Even as a 25-year old, there was stuff that I had to contend with. You can’t let other people’s opinions of you dictate your happiness or emotional stability.

CJ: That leads to my next question, when you got into it, were you aware of the social stigma attached to being a porn star and how it might affect your life forever?

Mona: I think I was in a bubble. I was living in San Francisco; I had already been doing professional domination work for 2 ½ years so I had a network of peers that were supporting me through this. I saw the Armory every day on my walk to BART and I thought I should apply to work for Kink.com. It’s an amazing resource and it’s right there and it’s a castle. ‘I want to go in there!’ So I didn’t really think of the stigma because I was already doing sex work. I kind of made up my mind about that and I was pretty out about it, my domination work, to my friends and family. I don’t think the stigma is something you completely get over. It’s the oxygen you breathe.

CJ: How did you come up with your stage name?

Mona: Mona was a childhood nickname and my best friend was this wonderful old lady named Sunny and she and I were walking our dogs. I told her I was getting into porn and needed a last name. She said, ‘MoansALot’. No, that wasn’t going to be it. What about Mona Wales and that’s how I came to be. There’s a little double entendre and it’s a little cheesy.

CJ: Was there any nervousness when you started filming? I mean all these people are there watching you fuck. What was your first scene like?

Mona: Oh God, yes. That first day, I remember waking up and it was the first time I had ever waxed my vagina! I couldn’t even get through that. I had them do half one day and I walked out. I had to go back and get the other half waxed. I was incredibly nervous but then I got on set and my first scene was with a trans woman named Francesca. She was so sweet and everyone was so nice and I got to have sex with somebody without any expectations that I would have to have a relationship afterwards. I just got to have a good time and it was pleasure without consequence.

CJ: What’s your favorite position?

Mona: I call it sugar dick. It’s when I lie flat on my stomach and I get banged from behind.

CJ: Do you have any favorite scenes?

Mona: That’s a really good question. Now, it’s more about experiencing other people’s first vicariously. Like my scene with Hadley Viscara for Electrosluts was very special because she was so into it. I just did one with Pierce Paris that was very good. He came 4 times in 3 hours and I fisted him with his own cum. It was so incredible!

CJ: When you shoot for Kink, do you shoot as a dom or a sub?

Mona: I do everything.

CJ: Are you naturally submissive or naturally dominant?

Mona: I think I’m a top heavy switch. I feed off the topping but I’m easily convinced otherwise.

CJ: How often do you masturbate?

Mona: It depends. It’s either 10 times/day or once a month.

CJ: What’s the preferred method?

Mona: I’m a Hitachi girl.

CJ: Do you watch porn before you got into the industry?

Mona: No, I had never seen pornography. I had a concept of what it was but I never clicked on it.

CJ: When a guy pops, where do you prefer it?

Mona: Anywhere. I really love it. I love all kinds of fluids. The most memorable ones are down my throat. Yeah, that’s my favorite, when you feel something cumming in your throat. That’s special.

CJ: You’ve done a few anal scenes in your career. Is that something that you enjoy?

Mona: I do. But I try to listen to my body. I’m not an anal queen by a long shot. When I do it, I try to space it out every six months or something like that and really take my time to enjoy it instead of blowing myself out.

CJ: Do you have any fantasies you still want to live out on camera?

Mona: All of the best sex of my life has been off camera. This summer, I got the opportunity to bang two brothers at once on a boat on a desert island off the coast of Croatia. And now they are actually going to come to Spain to visit me for my birthday. We can’t film that. We can’t shoot brothers! So I guess for my birthday, what I’m hoping for is to get these brothers to kiss for me. To kiss while they fuck me…that’s what I want for my birthday. But you can’t shoot it!

CJ: If you could magically go back and talk to Mona before her first scene, what would you tell her?

Mona: That’s a question that I ask myself because I realize that real life is better than pornography. I think I would be like, ‘Mona, do you want to do pornography or do you want to be a really fancy hooker?’ (laughs) That’s a question I would ask myself.

CJ: And what would the answer be?

Mona: I don’t know. I reread my journal recently from back then and I think I wanted to destroy my ego. I don’t want to care about what other people think about me but, unfortunately, pornography makes more ego than breaks it. So that was a mistake. So I guess I would tell her to check herself.

CJ: What have you learned about yourself sexually since joining porn?

Mona: Yes. I guess I used to think it was all about people. Before the industry, I said, ‘Well I’m really attracted to this person so I want to have sex with them.’ I think that verbiage got changed in porn from people to activities. So it’s not like ‘I really want to be with this person!’ It’s more ‘I really want to get choked out!’

CJ: You’ve already given me a couple stories, give me a couple more of wild things you’ve done in your life.

Mona: One time, in real life, all of my best moments have been in real life, I fit both of my feet inside of someone. Purer people have walked on the moon! It was awesome!

CJ: You got both your feet inside someone’s ass??

Mona: Yes, it’s extreme sexual adventurism. I love it!

CJ: Anything else?

Mona: On New Year’s, I had a really wonderful experience. The clock struck midnight and I convinced people at the event to make out with me and then, later on in the night, there was this building on fire and I made out with a fireman on the ladder. That was pretty special.

CJ: If you weren’t in the industry, what would you be doing right now?

Mona: I think I would go back to school and study neuroscience. And that’s still a possibility. I just learned Spanish so I want to go to Graduate School in a different language.

CJ: You just learned Spanish? I bet one of the first phrases you learned was ‘Kiss him!’ or ‘Stick your tongue down his throat!’

Mona: You know it! (laughs)

CJ: And how can the fans get ahold of you?

Mona: On Twitter, I’m @MonaWalesXXX. MonaWalesXXX on OnlyFans. MonaWalesXXX.com
