Maitland has been in the industry for almost a year now and she has taken the industry by storm! She is a gorgeous redhead with a great body. Coming from the mainstream world, one would expect a standoffish person but Maitland is so sweet and a down-to-earth person. I first talked to Maitland last year and we got caught up during the quarantine!

Captain Jack: When I first talked to you, you had just started your porn career. It must have been nerve wracking at first. Are you more comfortable having sex on-camera now?

Maitland Ward: You know what’s funny is that I was never super nervous to do it on camera, which is kind of surprising. I had done my own content for about 18 months prior to that. So I had been doing it on-camera for the public so it wasn’t like I was just out-of -the-gates doing it on-camera; it was just in a professional setting. Definitely, I’m much more comfortable on the sets and with all the material and everything. It’s going to be coming up on a year, the first anniversary of when my first Blacked scene came out. It’s been a real whirlwind of a year! And I had a great time! It’s funny, I was actually thinking about that. People asked me if I was nervous just starting out and it wasn’t even the first time I had sex on film. It’s like I get into this zone and it takes me over and I didn’t expect that. I expected myself to be more nervous than I actually was when I experienced it.

CJ: What kind of feedback have you gotten from your former co-workers in the mainstream world?

Maitland: Yes, I was surprised by it. I thought when I came out doing porn professionally, people would be negative and was expecting a bit of a backlash. I have been so surprised by the positivity that has come out from people, especially younger people in their 20s and 30s. They’ve really supported me. Women too who tell me that it’s amazing and that I’m really doing something for women and sexuality and you’re breaking down walls. I was blown away from the positivity that I got. Of course, you’re going to get some naysayers and negativity but, for the most part, like with all the press I got in the mainstream, I would say that 98% of it had a positive spin on it. There were shocking headlines but when you got to the meat of the article, they were cheering me on.

CJ: One of the things I love about it is you started in mainstream and moved into adult and now the adult world is becoming more mainstream.

Maitland: That’s what I love. And if I have any part of making it more acceptable to mainstream, I will have done more than my job. That means so much to me and something that I’m passionate about. I do think that porn is going to merge with mainstream and there will be crossovers in the future. I think the younger people have grown up with porn on the internet so it’s not such a taboo thing as opposed to someone in their 50s who are more likely to be more judgmental, especially women. But these 20-year old girls say, ‘Wow, that’s so cool!’ and are much more receptive to it and I think that’s where the world is going. And I’m very excited about that.

CJ: Also with the pandemic, a lot of women are turning on OnlyFans and producing their own content. That’s helping too.

Maitland: Yes! It’s really putting power in the hands of the performers and women in general. So that’s really cool. I find that adult is very empowering to women not only on screen but behind the scenes like Kayden (Kross) and all the women who win awards. In mainstream, they’re so far behind in that and I think they can learn a lot from adult in advancing women.

CJ: You are such a superstar, you just got your pussy molded for Fleshlight! Tell me about that experience!

Maitland: I did! I actually got it done at AVN, that weekend and it had to be top secret until now. It was all in the middle of awards season and so much was happening! I was going to my very first AVN and the first day that I was fully there, I had the whole Fleshlight experience. I got molded and scanned and everything. I won’t say it was enjoyable; I’ve had more enjoyable experiences (laughs, but it was very easy. It just took a long time. They are so nice over at Fleshlight. That was the opening of AVN and the whole weekend was very special. And then the awards…I was so blown away by it all. So closely after that, we had the pandemic and we were so shut off and now it’s released and it’s really fun to see how my fans are reacting. I love that they can really take part in all of this. They can have a part of me at home with them. (laughs)

CJ: I like that. You put it a little softer than my next crude question. How does it make you feel than anyone and everyone can fuck your pussy?

Maitland: (laughs) It’s a great feeling! It’s very empowering and me being this exhibitionist person, I love that fact. That really is a turn-on to me. Maitland: Yes, I can shoot with other Vixen groups but I’m the face of Deeper. Primarily, that’s where all my big projects lie but I’ll be jumping around to the other brands like I did before with Blacked.

CJ: I opened the questions up to fans, Lenny Voyeur and others want to know if you’re going to do anal?

Maitland: Let’s just say that it’s definitely in the plans for the big projects coming up. (laughs) Yes, that’s definitely part of the deal.

CJ: LoneWolf wants to know if you do anal in your personal life?

Maitland: Yes, definitely. And I haven’t done anal on-camera with a man but I’ve done anal with a dildo on my content. But, definitely, anal is one of the things that you’ll see first for me. I think this feature is going to be a showcase for me of stuff that I haven’t done before.

Maitland: Yes! Definitely! I love Aubrey Kate. I didn’t work with Aubrey but she’s in a scene in Drive. That is something I definitely am NOT opposed to! I think Natalie Mars is great too. That is something that could definitely happen in the future but there’s nothing in the can now.

CJ: Aya wants to know what your girl/girl future holds?

Maitland: I love doing girl/girl. I have done SO much girl/girl stuff in my own personal content and I’ll continue to do that. And I’ve done a lot of group sex scenes. Maitland: Oh, yes. I’m not opposed to that either. I’m not somebody who says, ‘I can not do this and this,’ it just depends on the circumstance. I think it can be really hot. I don’t think Deeper has done fully that but it could definitely be in the future. It’s predicated on what comes up scriptwise. I love Wolf Hudson. He’s really funny. I didn’t actually work with him but that would be great! I don’t have any problems with that.

CJ: Did you watch porn before you got into the industry?

Maitland: Yes and no. Because I’m not somebody who knew everybody’s name and was a fan like that. I definitely would watch. I was a fan of Vixen since it began. I really like the whole scripted thing. I would write a lot of erotic stuff and I always wanted to see it produced with a good story and hot sex. So, yes, I watched porn of course. I knew the big players. I loved how Vixen made it so cinematic. And that’s why I agreed to do Blacked.com when they approached me. I knew they’d make me look good. I had no idea what the future held.

CJ: You just said you wrote erotica. Do you ever collaborate with Kayden on writing the stories?

Maitland: It depends on what it is. She has definitely asked for my input. I have written a couple of scenes that should be coming up pretty soon. We did them before the pandemic. She definitely gives me freedom that if I have an idea to give it to her. She’s writing the whole feature herself but will ask for my input.

CJ: What have you learned about yourself sexually since joining porn?

Maitland: Oh my God. I never thought when I was doing my content that I’d be where I am. I thought I was only going to do nude and solo stuff just because I liked being an exhibitionist. But I slowly started thinking, ‘what if I try this?’ With my writing, there were some things that I really wanted to explore about myself and this gave me an opportunity to go down that path a bit. So I started out slow, doing girl/girl stuff, then girl/girl/girl, then I got to the point where I wanted to do stuff with guys and I explored that side of myself in the exhibitionism and the sexual performance. I really loved sexually performing and, from the get-go, I didn’t expect that to come out of me. It was just natural. It literally just comes out of me when I’m performing. It’s interesting how different performers bring different aspects out of you. I love people who will challenge me in a scene and really bring me to a new level. And I find that every step of the way, how far will I go? I haven’t found the endpoint yet and I don’t think I will for a while. There’s so much to come and I didn’t expect that at first but now it’s very exciting.

CJ: Some fans expressed disappointment after our first interview, what does your husband think of your porn career?

Maitland: He’s extremely proud of me. He was instrumental when I wanted to start doing this. He was the videographer/photographer in the beginning when I was doing my own content. He’s been along for every step of the journey. He as so proud of me the night I won the AVN awards. It meant so much because we have worked so hard on this together. He does a lot of business aspects for me, like financial aspects. He’s super proud of me, couldn’t be prouder.

CJ: Does he watch your scenes?

Maitland: Yes he does. He especially enjoys the girl/girl scenes. (laughs) It’s kind of funny though. I don’t think he necessarily watches it for the ‘oh yeah!’ aspect; he watches it more to watch me perform. I think that’s an interesting thing. He enjoys watching me be sexual and my performance.
