Kit Mercer Talks with Captain Jack

Captain Jack: Tell me about Kit Mercer.

Kit Mercer: I’m from Chicago and grew up in the Midwest. I lived there until I graduated high school.

CJ: How long have you been shooting now?

Kit: Just over a year. I started in March/April of last year.

CJ: When you were younger, were you very sexual? Did you have a lot of partners?

CJ: I heard you did some fetish modeling when you were younger? Was that before or after porn?

Kit: It was before and after I got into porn. I did a lot of modeling and then got into the fetish stuff before I got into porn. That’s how I ramped up into porn by working with some of the amateur producers and that led to Kink and more extreme stuff with a company out of Portland. I ran it by someone who helps with my content and he says it sounded like a superhero. I was going for something like that. Just something unique. It’s also unisex too which is more versatile.

CJ: Do you find it advantageous getting into porn at a more mature age as opposed to when you were 18?

Kit: I found it advantageous in the sense that I knew my body pretty well. Up until that time, I knew my sexual preferences. I was very comfortable speaking about boundaries and being assertive. I think those are some of the things some of the younger performers struggle with. They would benefit from more grooming or coaching or even (mediation?) in the beginning. From that standpoint, I didn’t have the same issues that some of the newer performers will come out and say that they had but I was also more equipped with life experiences to avoid those situations if they ever started to arise. CJ: If you weren’t in porn, what would you be doing right now?

Kit: I imagined I’d be traveling the world, living in a different country and teaching yoga and meditation. I’ve also considered becoming a doctor or lawyer for years…and still might if porn doesn’t work out for me long term.

CJ: Do you ever get recognized in public?

Kit: No, not that I know of! (laughs)

CJ: What are you like off-camera? When you have free time, what do you do for fun?

Kit: I love the outdoors; I really like traveling. I was really hoping to travel a lot this year! Going to the beach or the mountains, working out, yoga. I love watching movies and I really love music, especially live music but that’s hard to come by. And I really like reading and learning something new.

CJ: What kind of music do you like?

Kit: I love all kinds. I probably like classic rock, EDM and blues the best. I like all kinds of music. And I love house music!

CJ: Do you have any favorite movies?

Kit: I really like It’s A Wonderful Life and the Godfather.

CJ: What’s your favorite TV shows?

Kit: I was really into Game of Thrones for a while. I like Ozark and Breaking Bad too.

CJ: What’s your favorite food?

Kit: I try to eat really healthy. I’m semi-vegan so I really love vegetables. I love lobster and any kind of seafood. When I’m not being the healthiest, I love Italian and Mexican food.
