Kait: I felt decently confident because I know how much passion I have and how much I worked this past year. And when they were announcing the nominees, they were saying everyone’s name and everyone was hooting and hollering and then they said my name and I got the quietest cheer. No one knew me! My spirit went down a little bit. Right before they announced the winner, I figured somebody else probably got it. And as I was thinking that, they said my name and everything just went quiet, the whole world stopped and I was, ‘Oh my God! That’s my name!’ I felt confident then I felt completely the opposite then the confidence returned and I marched up that stage the best I could without tripping on my dress or my words. I just carried it through.
CJ: You said the crowd got quest when they announced your name as a nominee. What was the reception like afterwards?
Kait: My phone was blowing up for the next week. Not even just the next day but the next week. Everyone was just saying ‘Congratulations!’ And then I put my email on my Twitter and now my emails are just getting flooded with so many opportunities and podcast interviews and random people looking for fun stuff from me. Everything has just been blowing up and I’m just so excited. I feel so much opportunity coming my way and I’m just so excited to see where this next year takes me.
CJ: Were you a very sexual person before you entered the industry?
Kait: Absolutely. But behind very closed doors. I lived in a very small town and I was raised incredibly Catholic. My uncle is the priest at my hometown church. CJ: You have incredible flexibility. Now that you don’t do cherleading anymore, are you maintaining your flexibility?
