Captain Jack interviews Brooklyn Chase

I had the opportunity to talk with Brooklyn this week. I remember the first time I saw her in Big Tit Centerfolds and I thought to myself, “Who the hell is this? Captain Jack: Tell me about Brooklyn Chase. What kind of girl were you growing up, family life, etc.

Brooklyn Chase: Growing up, I was extremely, extremely, painfully shy. I was super quiet and very reserved. I would walk down the hallway at school and if I heard laughter, I was sure they were laughing at me. I was so self-conscious. Even when I got into porn, I was self-conscious and I think it helped bring me out of my shell a little bit. I was the middle child, I have an older and a younger sister. I was pretty boring. I didn’t play sports, I didn’t join clubs…I was so shy. I went to school, I went to work and I came home and that was it.

CJ: Can I ask how old you are?

Brooklyn: I’m 28!

CJ: You look really young!

Brooklyn: (laughs) Thank you. I’m almost 29, my birthday’s later this year.

CJ: How long you’ve been in the industry?

Brooklyn: I’ve been in it about a year and a half. I did my first scene in June of last year.

CJ: You’re petite also, how tall are you?

Brooklyn: I’m 5’2”.

CJ: You were so shy, when did you lose your virginity?

Brooklyn: 15. I was grounded at the time, I don’t remember what for, and I snuck out my bedroom window because this really hot guy was having a party. He was a year older than me and I wanted to go to his party soooo bad. I thought he was so cute. I had only talked to him twice. So I snuck out and went to this party and he took an interest in me and got me really, really drunk. (laughs) And he took my virginity in his little sister’s bedroom.

CJ: Were you very promiscuous after that?

Brooklyn: Yes which probably seems odd because I was so shy. I had extremely low self-esteem and I felt if I slept with everyone, they might like me! So I was quite promiscuous until I was about 17. I got married really, really young and I started dating the boy who would become my husband. I lost my virginity two weeks after my 15^th birthday. So at 15 and 16, I was quite promiscuous. I got around. (laughs)

CJ: Did you suck a lot of cock back then too?

Brooklyn: I didn’t! That was something I was afraid to do. I didn’t suck cock and I didn’t let any guys go down on me because in my mind, that was so gross. And then I had a boyfriend who talked me into it and I thought, “Seriously? This is so much fun! And I can’t believe I’ve been missing out on it. CJ: So are you into girls now? Or is it just something you have to do being in porn?

Brooklyn: In the beginning, it was just something where I got booked for a scene. But as time goes on and I do more and more, I’m getting more and more into girls. CJ: How and why did you decide to get into the adult industry?

Brooklyn: I was looking for a new job. I had worked in customer service and retail for 11 years and had worked my way up to upper management, so I figured when I was looking for something new that even though I didn’t have a degree, that my experience would help. And that wasn’t the case. I had rent to pay and had car payments due so I was looking around for someway to get money fast. Even though I’m so shy and self-conscious, I knew that other people thought I was attractive so I thought I could strip or something like that. So I came across my former agency and I had a meeting with them. They explained the industry to me and I said, “Oh my gosh, no no no I can not do that. I can not do porn.” There was no way I could do porn. So a few months went by and I was digging deeper and deeper into my savings and I had second thoughts. I obviously didn’t have a problem having sex with strangers because I do it anyways so I might as well make money doing it. So I shot a scene to see if I could handle it and what I thought. I was shocked at how fun it was and how easy it was and I walked away with a check that day. I was sold from then on! (laughs)

CJ: Did the social stigma attached to being a porn star come up in your thinking at all? It’s going to stick with you for the rest of your life.

Brooklyn: It was something that I thought about but going in I was naïve that I could fly under the radar and no one would find out. I was safe. That lasted about a month before people found out and it spread like wildfire in my personal life. By that time, I had come to grips with the idea that I was having fun, I was enjoying it, I was being safe and I had put myself in a much better situation financially. I think that’s where the increase in my self-esteem started because I really had to decide that if I was ok with my choices, it didn’t matter what anyone else thought. And since then, my family knows and everyone in my life knows. They weren’t happy about it at first but they see that I am safe and they see that I’m happy. It’s not something we really talk about but they’re ok.

CJ: How did your family find out?

Brooklyn: My ex-husband found out and he told everyone! I wanted to get ahold of my dad because I wanted him to hear it from me instead of anyone else. I wrote him a letter in the mail. (laughs) My ex put it on Facebook. He took screenshots and texted them to people, like my mother. I kind of feel it was a blessing in disguise because I didn’t know how to tell anybody. I didn’t know what to say. I didn’t even know how to approach the situation so it was kind of taken care of for me. I have pictures on my Twitter somewhere because he keyed “Brooklyn Chase” across the hood of my car. (laughs) So it was a pretty toxic situation. That was a month after I got into the industry so it was a while ago.

CJ: How did you come up with your stage name?

Brooklyn: I was talking to my former agent and he asked me what name did I always want to be named. And I had never thought of that before. So I went to a baby name website and I made a  long list of every name I liked. And I mixed and matched first names and last names until I narrowed it down to 3 finalists. I was on my way to take photos for my former agents website. And he called me on the way and said they needed a name so I better figure it out. So I picked a name off the 3 finalists I had and came up with Brooklyn Chase. A few people have come up to me over the last year and a half and said that I should change my name. But it feels like my name now. What do you mean change my name, that’s my name now! (laughs) It’s not really an issue now that I have more content out but for a while, if you Googled Brooklyn Chase, Chase Banks in Brooklyn, NY would come out. Now when you Google the name, I mostly come up.

CJ: You were painfully shy and I know you fucked a lot of people, but what was your first scene like? It had to be a little different with the crew and the PA’s and the camera guys there watching you go at it.

Brooklyn: My first scene was for FuckedHard18 and it was a really small production. It was me, the male talent, the director and the camera guy. That was it. It was a very small set. There were no PA’s, there was no lighting guys, it was very small. I did my second scene like that too. Then I shot for Penthouse and it was a totally different experience. But by then, I had 2 and at least had an idea. I did hair and make-up, then I did Pretty Girls…so I knew what was going to happen. But I do think if my first scene had been a group production with more people there, I don’t know if it’s something I would have done again because I think I would have been a lot more intimidated. So it was good that the first scene that it was small. The male talent was so nice and he made me feel comfortable and it wasn’t bad at all.

CJ: Did you watch porn before you joined the industry?

Brooklyn: A little bit. I always watched girl/girl because I fantasized about girls. I would only want to watch the oral part because that’s what I liked. Anything else didn’t do it for me. I just wanted to watch one girl go down on another girl. I haven’t watched porn at all since I’ve been in the industry. I don’t watch my own scenes because it’s awkward for me. So I only see a little snippets of my own scenes but I don’t watch any other porn at all.

CJ: Do you have any favorite scenes?

Brooklyn: I really enjoy the scenes I’ve done for Porn Fidelity. I always have fun on those sets and I recently did their 500^th episode called Madison’s Mad Mad Circus. It was an 8-some with Ryan and Kelly Madison and five other girls. It was a big circus scene so I got to ride an elephant and it was a really big production. It was a lot of fun. It was so much fun. I’m really excited about that one. And being my first feature was a really fun experience because I didn’t know what to expect.

CJ: I haven’t seen it, did you do any singing?

Brooklyn: No, I didn’t. Kiera King did some of the singing but it was mostly lip syncing and I did some background vocals.

CJ: You have a couple features coming out pretty soon, the first one was Having Sex With The In-Laws directed by Will Ryder, what was that one like?

Brooklyn: I performed with Steven St. Croix. I had never worked with him before then we worked together two days in a row. So when we shot that one, we worked the day prior and we were old pals already. So that one was fun. He played my father-in-law and I was a stripper. My husband and I had to move back in.

CJ: You also have Jonathan Morgan’s The Candy Striper coming out with Erik Everhard, what’s that one about?

Brooklyn: That was the very first time I worked for Wicked. Jonathan Morgan’s awesome. I was married to a much, much older man for his money, a golddigger. I got to be very dipsy in that one so it was fun.

CJ: What does the future hold for Brooklyn Chase?

Brooklyn: I have another feature coming out for Jonathan Morgan coming out in which I was the lead role. We just finished shooting that and I’m really, really excited to be starring in my own Wicked feature. My website is in the works, it’s in the early planning stages. I’m gearing up for my first AVN. I didn’t go last year so I’m really excited to be going. And ever since I’m with OC Modeling, I’m really busy and that’s good.
