Captain Jack interviews AJ Applegate

I recently had a chance to talk with AJ Applegate. She is a gorgeous 23-year old who is known for her big booty. Although that is a prominent body feature for her, one thing that I notice about AJ is that she’s always smiling and having a good time in every scene she shoots. And that’s the way it should be.

She is the same girl on screen that I talked to last week. Fun, sweet, giving and happy, AJ is one of a kind. I hope you enjoy!

Captain Jack: Tell me about AJ Applegate. What kind of girl were you growing up, family life, etc.

AJ Applegate: I was always a really outgoing child. I come from a huge family although I’m an only child. I was a cheerleader for the school’s sports teams. I also enjoyed singing. I was more into that than schoolwork. I was also wanting to entertain people.

CJ: What’s your age and your measurements?

AJ: I’m 23 and 34-27-38.

CJ: How long have you been in the industry?

AJ: It’s been a year and a half.

CJ: Is it true that you watched porn when you were 10 years old?

AJ: (laughs) Yes, that’s true. I would look it up on the computer and was like “Oh My God!” It’s funny because I didn’t lose my virginity until I was 16. I was a closet freak. (laughs)

CJ: How and why did you decide to get into the adult industry?

AJ: I was working at a strip club and then I started modeling, which progressed into nude modeling and then fetish work. I thought that was the perfect time to enter the adult industry but I had always wanted to do it since I turned 18. However, I was so into dancing and stuff. I was dancing for professional sports teams and I was a dance teacher so I didn’t want to do it anymore. Then I got back into modeling and the fetish stuff and I wanted to try adult because I would always regret it if I didn’t try.

CJ: Were you aware of the social stigma attached to the porn industry and did it influence you in any way?

AJ: I was kind of aware of it. I actually thought people looked down on it if I didn’t have a fan base like I do. I actually feel like I have more people who look up to me rather than look down on me.

CJ: Were there any stars (male or female) that you looked up to when you first entered the industry?

AJ: Briana Banks, I loved. Jenna Haze too. I think she’s an awesome performer. But Briana was my favorite. I would always watch her videos.

CJ: How did you come up with your name?

AJ: I had a different name at first. I went by Kaylee Evans. Once I started shooting, I didn’t realize how many girls had the name Kaylee or the last name Evans. And I felt like I was just washed in with that group of girls. So when I started shooting, everyone told me how much I looked like Christina Applegate. I used to get called that all the time growing up. So I felt it was the perfect time to change my last name to Applegate and I like boy/girl names so I came up with AJ. And I wanted to stand out.

CJ: So what did the agent do for your first scene? Tell you it was going to be a boy/girl scene and gave you the address? How does it work?

AJ: At first, I was with a nobody agent in New York. And he sent me out to California and I didn’t get any work because nobody knew who he was or who I was. Then I got together with Kevin at Type 9. He thought I was so cute and he thought I could make it in the industry. He really started pushing me \. For a while there, I thought I wasn’t going to make it because nobody wanted to book me. He really pushed me and I filmed a couple things for a couple directors at Evil Angel and that’s when I blew up.

CJ: So what was your first scene like? Were you intimidated, were you overwhelmed not knowing anyone on set?

AJ: I was very nervous. When I showed up I didn’t realize how much went into making an adult scene, production wise. So I was nervous but once we got going I felt really fine. The first time I shot was for Ken Dark at MOFO’s and after it was over, he told me he couldn’t believe that was my first scene. It was a POV scene and I looked at the camera the whole time. He said that some girls who have been in the industry for 10 years still forget to do that.

CJ: Do your family and friends know what you do?

AJ: Yes. My friends weren’t surprised at all. They knew it was going to happen eventually. My family? My mom found out from my uncle who saw something. I didn’t want her to find out that way. Once she found out, she asked me. She said she needed a couple of days to think about it. But then she texted me the next day and told me she loved me and whatever makes me happy. Same with my dad. It’s kind of like out of sight, out of mind but now she asks me questions about it. She just recently started doing that so she’s easing into it now.

CJ: Are you into girls?

AJ: Yes (laughs) But I don’t get too many girl/girl scenes.

CJ: What aspects of the industry has surprised you in a good or bad way?

AJ: I’d have to say STD’s. I thought we were all getting tested for everything and then I realized it’s a basic panel and not a full panel. But I’ve been lucky where I haven’t gotten anything but it kind of scares me in a way. I feel like we should all get tested for everything.

CJ: OK, we have to talk about your ass. You’re known for your ass. When did you start to develop that?

AJ: (laughs) I’ve had a big butt since I was little. I didn’t really start getting noticed until high school. I was cheerleading and stuff and my girl friends talked about it and I wasn’t really into boys. However, when I hit high school, that’s when everyone started noticing me. Everyone said, “Oh my God, she has such a nice butt!”

CJ: When you work with someone, especially for the first time, do you make a point of talking to him beforehand. Finding out what they like and don’t like?

AJ: Yes, I always try and make a point of it. The guys are always asking me what I like and don’t like. I like to get personal with whoever I’m working with so that we can make a good scene. I think it’s more difficult when you work with girls because they don’t know how to open up to you as opposed to guys. So when you first meet a girl, they’re either going to be bitchy or they’re going to be nice. I’ve always been outgoing so I always try to initiate conversation so we can get comfortable with each other.

CJ: I’ve noticed that. The thing I really like about you, besides your butt, is that you’re always smiling. Always giggling. Always having a good time.

AJ: Yeah, I feel that’s how it should be. Everyone is like, “it’s work, it’s work”, yeah, but it’s fun. We’re having sex!

CJ: So what exactly do you like? What gets AJ off?

AJ: I guess oral’s my favorite. I like to feel real personal and close, that really turns me on. I don’t like it when the guy doesn’t kiss you or be intimate with you.

CJ: Speaking of oral, I’ve seen you in a couple Le Wood scenes, Facial Violation 2 and Gasp, Gag and Gape 3, Do you like the rough stuff?

AJ: Yes I do, it’s my favorite. I loved Facial Violation, that was one of my favorite scenes. I love the rough oral scenes. I mean the rough anal is good for intimacy but the rough oral stuff I love. I like a lot of spit and choking. (laughs)

CJ: In that scene, you did the bridge too. That was pretty hot!

AJ: Oh yeah! I forgot about that. That was my idea, I wanted to show off other aspects that I can do besides sex.

CJ: How often do you cum, if ever, during a scene?

AJ: It really depends. I have cum but it really depends on who I’m working with. If you’re not attracted to the guy it’s hard and I think that’s true for anybody.

CJ: Is it weird having sex with older men?

AJ: Not really. I mean, a lot of them look so young still. A lot of them are in their 30s, I think. I’ve never really thought about that before. (laughs) No, I don’t think it’s weird.

CJ: What’s the most uncomfortable place you’ve had sex?

AJ: The most uncomfortable was a backseat of a jeep for Reality Kings. That was my worst scene and I think it was the second scene I ever shot. The positioning that we had to do in the backseat did not make me look flattering. It was very, very uncomfortable.

CJ: Have you had any bad experiences so far in the industry?

AJ: No, I’ve been very lucky. I haven’t had anything crazy happen. A lot of girls tell me stories but I haven’t personally experienced anything bad. The guys I’ve worked with, they’ve all been very nice to me. I haven’t worked with any assholes.

CJ: Do you have any favorite scenes you’ve shot and why?

AJ: There’s a scene coming out that I did with Johnny Sins for Brazzers. We had underwater sex and I think that’s going to come out amazing. I have a couple other great scenes but they’re not out yet. My scene with Jada Stevens and James Deen for Anal Buffet is hot. I really like working for Evil Angel, that’s probably the most favorite times that I’ve had.

CJ: Do you watch your own scenes?

AJ: I watch the trailers when they come out. I tried to watch all my scenes in the beginning because I was new and I wanted to critique myself. But now I don’t want to have to pay for it so I just watch the trailers. (laughs) I just think that I shouldn’t do that position anymore because it didn’t look good or little things like that I look out for.

CJ: How often do you masturbate?

AJ: I probably masturbate once a day. (laughs) As long as I can because maybe I won’t be able to one day! (laughs) Usually if I can I do!

CJ: What’s your favorite positions?

AJ: Definitely doggie because they can go in the deepest.

CJ: Do you have any favorite performers?

AJ: Johnny Sins, definitely. I like Criss Strokes, Mark Wood and Mr. Pete, For girls? I definitely think that Jada Stevens is amazing. Mischa Brooks is amazing.

CJ: So you like the big ass too!

CJ: Is there anyone you haven’t worked with yet that you would like to?

AJ: Probably, Manuel. I was actually supposed to work with him but I can’t do anal with him. He’s just way too big. That’s probably it for right now. Maybe Toni Ribas too.

CJ: When a guy pops, where do you prefer it?

AJ: Either to swallow or on the face. (laughs)

CJ: So you actually like facials? It’s not just a hindrance of the job?

AJ: Yes (laughs). It’s good for the skin! (laughs)

CJ: Have you solicited any director and asked to be in one of his series?

AJ: The only time I did that was with Jonni Darkko. He’s supposed to be shooting me soon. It’s Wet Food that I want to do! And I really like Kevin Moore’s Hooker Experience. I really like all of Kevin Moore’s stuff. Mike Adriano is really good too. Whenever I’m in California, he tries to book me.

CJ: You started doing anal early on in your career. Some girls wait a year or so so that they create a demand or an interest for that. Were you advised against it and do you regret giving it up so soon on camera?

AJ: I started out doing boy/girl, I didn’t really start doing anal until 6 months in. But I don’t regret it at all because I’m still getting booked all the time and I’ve been doing it for a year now. I feel like I got more work once I started doing anal because of my butt. I think that was the biggest decision for me. Maybe other girls can wait and do girl/girl but porn’s not the way it used to be. You can’t wait a long time anymore because there’s not as much work as there was 10 years ago. A girl’s career doesn’t last as long so you have to put yourself into as much as you can and get your name out there.

CJ: Will there be anything else in the future? Gang bangs? Double vag? Double anal?

AJ: Yes, eventually I’d like to do a gang bang. I don’t think I’d ever be able to do double anal. My ass doesn’t gape or anything; it doesn’t stretch so it’s really difficult for me to do that. I mean I’m up for anything to try it (laughs). I did one IR scene recently with Mandingo. Eventually, I’ll do IR anal. I want to do as much as I can but for stuff like that I can wait a bit.

CJ: What’s your ultimate sexual fantasy and do you want to live it out on camera?

AJ: I’ve always thought about getting stuck on an elevator or something. (laughs). I want to dress in a cheerleading outfit and football players take you or something. That were really my fantasies when I was younger.

CJ: You just came up with the idea for your first gang bang!

AJ: Yes, exactly! (laughs)

CJ: In your private life, have you ever role played something that you’ve done on camera?

AJ: I’ve never reenacted something I’ve done on camera. But I have role played, however.

CJ: What do you on your time off?

AJ: I’m just like anybody else. When I’m in California, I’m working everyday. I don’t really do too much other than work when I’m out there. Then, when I come home, I’m addicted to the gym. So I go to the gym a lot and I hang out with my friends. Go to the park with my dog. Normal stuff.

CJ: What advice would you give someone who wants to enter the industry?

AJ: When I first started, I wish I had somebody that would have helped me understand all aspects of the industry because there are so many. Just make sure they get a good agent who will actually care about them and not get all the money out of them. Don’t let anyone pressure you into something you don’t want to do. If you don’t want to work in a certain theme or with a certain guy, then don’t do it. If it’s not going to make you comfortable then it’s not worth having the scene out there. Also make sure you’re safe. I don’t think you should really be sleeping around with the guys after the scene, although I know a lot of girls do. I’m very concerned about STD’s and stuff. And just try to do as much as you can for your career and don’t let anybody bring you down. Just do the best you can and do the best for yourself.

CJ: You mentioned being pressured into doing something that you didn’t want to do. Has that ever happened to you?

AJ: No. I was actually really lucky. Even though my agent was a nobody agent from New York, he got me all my first scenes in Florida. He just couldn’t do anything for me in LA. He was actually the one person who told me everything that was going on. He never wanted me to do anything that I didn’t want to do. He said wait for anal, wait for this, whatever. Then I met Kevin, my current agent, and I started doing anal shortly afterwards. I was never pressured into doing anything I didn’t want to do. If I don’t like something, I won’t say yes to it.

CJ: What does the future hold for AJ Applegate? Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

AJ: I just want to live out my career as long as I can. I would really like to get to MILF status. (laughs).
