Captain Jack interviews Jodi Taylor
I have seen a few scenes of Jodi and have been quite impressed with her work. I started following her on Twitter she impressed me even more. Every so often, whenever she has time, she answers fans questions on Tumblr. Not just one word answers but she gives in depth answers to all the inquiries and comes across as a very intelligent performer who cares about her fans. She did the first anal scene of her life on camera with Mike Adriano, which she talks about below, and is well on her way to achieving stardom. She has a natural look with her red hair, real tits and exquisite ass and I foresee big things in her future.
Captain Jack: Tell me about Jodi Taylor. What kind of girl were you growing up, family life, etc.
Jodi Taylor: I grew up in a small town in Idaho. It’s not that much of an eventful place. It was a small town life. I have one brother, my parents are still together and actually live in California now. I was into sports as a kid, I was pretty much a tomboy. I was a swimmer and did martial arts and horseback riding.
CJ: How long have you been in the industry?
Jodi: It was a year last month. And I just turned 22.
CJ: How and why did you decide to get into the adult industry?
Jodi: Actually, I was about 15 when I saw Kink and I wanted to do that. So that’s the main reason I got in, because I wanted to try a few scenes. I didn’t really expect to keep doing it after I had done my fantasy scenes. But it was so much fun that I couldn’t stop!
CJ: So what were your fantasy scenes?
Jodi: I watched the Kink gang bangs. I watched Brazzers too, but mostly Kink. I saw the interviews with the girls and I realized they were living out their own fantasies and I really wanted to try that.
CJ: So when did you shoot for Kink, right when you turned 18?
Jodi: It’s funny, I actually tried to do it when I was 15. I didn’t realize you had to be a certain age. It didn’t even cross my mind. (laughs). I didn’t get to try Kink until I was in the business for 2 or 3 months.
CJ: Were you aware of the social stigma attached to being a porn star and did that affect your decision in any way?
Jodi: I was worried about my family, I wasn’t really worried about people in general but I was worried about my family. So that made me hesitate for a couple of weeks.
CJ: Did you tell your family before you got into the industry? Or did they find out after you had already shot a few scenes?
Jodi: No, they found out. Everything’s fine now. We don’t really discuss it very often even though my mom tries. But I kind of avoid the subject. It’s just awkward.
CJ: How did you come up with your stage name?
Jodi: I like the name Jodi and I thought Taylor went with it nicely.
CJ: Were you with a lot of guys before you joined the industry?
Jodi: Not a lot. All of them were one-night stands. I had never been in a relationship so it was about 6 or 7 guys.
CJ: I saw an interview on-line where it said you never had a boyfriend in your whole life. That’s unbelievable to me!
Jodi: No, not even close! I haven’t even been on more than 4 dates in my whole life! Everything else was strictly sex. Not even to go out to eat first!
CJ: So are you looking for a boyfriend? Or are you anti-relationship?
Jodi: Eventually. I don’t think I’m ready for it yet though, but someday!
CJ: When did you lose your virginity?
Jodi: I was 17, I had just turned 17 when I lost it.
CJ: That’s a wild ride…no boyfriends, lost your virginity late and only being with 6 or 7 guys total and now you’re in porn!
Jodi: (laughs) Yes, it’s a little different!
CJ: So you decided to get into porn. Did you send your pictures to different agents? Or how did it work?
Jodi: I actually met a girl who mentioned she did it and then later on, she e-mailed me and asked me if I was interested in it. She didn’t even ask me face-to-face, she e-mailed me. I was kind of interested so I talked to her agent for about 2 weeks. He told me what was going on and gave me the lowdown. I also met a couple girls who were also in it and I decided to try it.
CJ: So you got your agent, what did he do for your first scene? Tell you it was a boy/girl scene and tell you the address to go to?
Jodi: He set up my first B/G scene and he gave me a really good person to work with. I was kind of worried about it at first because I knew it was a bigger site and a lot of people would see it. It was really good, it turned out good.
CJ: Were you really nervous? How long did it take to reach a comfort level?
Jodi: I wasn’t really nervous at all! The people there were really nice and it was really comfortable.
Jodi: Yes I do, those are usually my favorites.
CJ: Have you ever gotten bruised that it has cost you work?
Jodi: Ooooh, yeah. (laughs) When you work with Kink, you usually get bruised and I lost a couple Evil Angel and Bang Bros. scenes. You get them back but it sucks.
CJ: Are you into girls?
Jodi: Yes I am. Now that I’ve done porn, it’s even moreso. I’m more into guys though. I’ve never done anything with porn girls outside of porn but I’ve had a few encounters in my personal life.
CJ: Was that before porn? Or after?
Jodi: One was before porn and the other two were after.
CJ: I recently saw Lesbian Househunters with Marie McCray and I could tell you really enjoyed each other. You really dove in there and did some nice pussy licking.
Jodi: Thank you. It depends on the girl too. There are certain girls that are really, really cool and you can’t help but get into them. Even girls who aren’t completely turned off by girls sometimes.
CJ: Have you done scenes with girls who are “gay for pay” and not really into it?
Jodi: Not a ton, but there are some out there and it sucks. There are a couple that you can tell just by how they interact with you before the scene.
CJ: Before a scene, do you sit down with your co-star and discuss what they like and don’t like?
Jodi: No I don’t like to do that. It’s more fun if you can figure it out during a scene. Discussing it kind of ruins the fun. I like discovering what people like and don’t like. It’s kind of a turnoff if someone starts asking you what you like and don’t like right before you’re about to fuck them.
CJ: And what gets Jodi going? What turns you on?
Jodi: I like a lot of hair pulling and choking. Face slapping is really fun. But there’s not a lot of people who know how to do it right.
CJ: How often, if ever, do you cum during a scene?
Jodi: With guys? I can only think of a couple times where I didn’t cum. With girls? It all depends on the girl. In G/G scenes, it’s sometimes tough to get off because the camera has to see it. And the girls can’t really get in there.
CJ: Who’s your favorite performers to work with?
Jodi: Tommy Pistol is awesome, I just worked with him yesterday. James Deen, Evan Stone, Alyssa Branch, Lia Lor. Riley Reid is incredible. Maddy O’Reilly is really, really adorable too. Logan Pierce is really great. Jayden Lee is awesome. Mark Wood and Francesca Le’. I love Ramon Nomar but I haven’t seen him for a while.
CJ: Who do you want to work with that you haven’t had a chance to yet?
Jodi: I really want to work with Remy LaCroix. Dillion Harper also. I really want to work with Danny D. and Johnny Sins. I’ve met him a couple times but have never had a chance to work with him.
CJ: Is it weird having sex with older men?
Jodi: No, I’ve always liked older men.
CJ: What’s the most uncomfortable place you’ve had sex?
Jodi: The scene I did with Evan on a rock, that was pretty uncomfortable.
CJ: If you could change one thing about the industry, what would it be?
Jodi: That we get more girls to watch it. We need more girl-oriented porn. I have a lot of friends that watch porn especially since I’m in it. Now that they know I do it, they start asking me questions and watch it and stuff. And they complain to me what they don’t like about it. Most girls won’t even bother to check it out because they already have these pre-conceived notions. They won’t even try it or give it a chance.
CJ: The complaints you get about it, what don’t the girls like about it?
Jodi: My main friend is like me and she’s really into the hardcore sex. The main complaint girls have is about the girls. They don’t want to see fake boobs. They don’t want to see sex that looks fake. They don’t like the staged sex. They have a lot of the same complaints that guys do but they’re a little pickier about it. It has to look real and natural. Also, they complain about the guys. They want to see more of them, they don’t want everything focused on the girl.
CJ: So you’re young and new to the industry, do you ever feel like fresh meat? Do you have camera people and directors and what not hitting on you all the time?
Jodi: Once in a while. But for the most part directors are worn out because they see it all the time or they try really hard to be reserved. They try really, really hard to be respectful. There are some people on set that will hit on you, but most of them are really respectful.
CJ: Do you watch your own scenes?
Jodi: I do.
CJ: Do you masturbate to your own scenes or is it more of a critical analysis?
Jodi: It’s more being critical. But sometimes a scene is so good you want to relive it. But most of the time, it’s “ok, what did I do wrong and what do I need to improve on?”
CJ: So when you relive it, do you actually masturbate to yourself?
Jodi: When I watch porn, I don’t need to masturbate, especially if it’s really good. A lot of girls get what’s called a mind orgasm where you can cum with just a thought without touching yourself.
CJ: That’d be nice! One of the advantages of being a woman!
Jodi: (laughs) Yeah, it’s fun. I’m grateful for it!
CJ: Do you prefer gonzo or features?
Jodi: Features because it’s acting. I really enjoy being on set all day, hanging out with people. Plus, it’s hotter too, having a scenario or a part you’re playing. Gonzo’s fun too though.
CJ: What’s your favorite position?
Jodi: The only one I’m not as fond of is regular cowgirl. You can control how deep it goes but, for me, it’s hotter and more exciting when you can’t anticipate how deep he’s going to penetrate you. It’s much better that way.
CJ: When a guy pops, where do you prefer it?
Jodi: I like it in my mouth the most. It’s nice because you’re not wasting it. I don’t like it when it goes on my body. I like it in my pussy but it’s not sanitary. There’s more risk of disease and I’m on birth control and everything but I don’t need a porno baby. (laughs)
CJ: What’s your ultimate sexual fantasy and do you want to live it out on camera?
Jodi: My ultimate fantasy was the gang bang or the rape scenario and I’ve already done those so I need another one. Those were incredible and I think I need another one. (laughs) It was for Kink and there were four guys involved. I wouldn’t mind having more guys and I’ve actually been pestering them for that. Another one would be for Sex and Submission; a one-on-one dominating scene would be awesome.
CJ: So you are starting to become an anal queen. You have a great ass and you’re pretty good at it. Did you like anal before you got into the industry?
Jodi: I did not actually. My first anal was on camera for Anal Sweetness with Mike Adriano. I was terrified but it was really, really good. Mike is really good at it though. He knows what he’s doing when it comes to anal. He knows how to make it feel good.
CJ: I might have to watch that movie again. Only for research purposes, of course!
Jodi: Yeah, I bet! No other reasons! (laughs)
CJ: I think I’m blushing. I know you don’t get much time off but what do you do when the opportunity arises?
Jodi: I also have another job, I’m also a Production Assistant so I don’t get much time off. When I do get some time, I have 3 dogs, so that takes time. I like hanging out with friends. I take classes here and there. I used to play sports but I don’t have time for that now.
CJ: What advice would you give someone who wants to enter the industry?.
Jodi: I can’t really say for guys, but for a girl the advice I would give is to make sure you really want to do it. There are going to be certain careers it will ruin. Make sure you don’t quit everything you’re doing in order to do it. What happens sometimes is girl will get in it and do everything all at once. Then certain sites won’t hire them because they’ve done something hard core. Be a glamour model first and ease into it. Also, do a lot of networking, just meet people because some companies won’t hire you just based off a picture. Make a lot of porn girl friends because all the porn girls are really nice and will give you advice and help you out. Make sure you do everything you want to do, not what others want you to do.
CJ: What does the future hold for Jodi? Where do you think you’ll be in 5 or 10 years?
Jodi: I’ll definitely continue this for a while because there’s a lot of things I want to do that I haven’t done yet. I’m trying to become a director as well. In 10 years, I want to be writing and directing. I want to direct mainstream too. But porn first, I want to direct porn for women that they’ll love. There’s a lot of women that would watch porn if they knew what it could be. They just don’t know. There’s actually a lot of stuff out there but they just don’t know about it.
CJ: Do you have any exciting projects coming up?
Jodi: I’m in the ET parody. That was awesome. They changed it up a bit from the original where Elliott is a girl with two brothers. I play the girlfriend of one of the brothers. And I get to fuck ET!! I also have some a couple scenes upcoming for Sweetheart Video and Evil Angel.
CJ: So how can fans contact you?
